When growth occurs, many businesses would welcome it with open arms. This is confirmed in a recent survey of 20 local businesses in Perth, with an overwhelming yes when asked. But let’s dig deeper on this question: how would you do and cope with RAPID growth? Especially growth that occurs a lot sooner than expected…
To briefly discuss about the scenario of “what would you do” in the event of rapid growth, we decided to interview a local business right here in Perth. Trading by the name of Crusader Solutions, they first launched a removals group several years ago. To cut a long story short, they experienced rapid growth when others experienced hardship during Perth’s mining downfall. In a nutshell, they responded to the rapid growth by expanding their services to include short term and long term storage. Check out one of their storage website: storageperthwa.com.au to find out more.
Whilst some businesses may expand by doing the same thing but with a bigger capacity. Crusader Solutions decided to take on another niche. Although storage services do come hand in hand with the removals side of things, it is still a niche that requires planning before executing it.
So how does a company simply add another service under their umbrella when responding to business growth? The answer is careful planning, to minimise any associated risks. To the outsiders, it may seem all so simple. Launch the extra services being offered, market the service, employ more people and ditto you got more revenue in the bank. But in reality, there’s more to it than meets the eye.
In the case of Crusader Solutions, having some knowledge of the storage market in Perth gives them the advantage over a business starting from scratch. Although it is another niche altogether, the fundamentals of running a business in Perth (or wherever it might be) is pretty much the same. The same foundation but branched differently as you progress through the different stages.
Although brief, we hope the insight of how Crusader Solutions respond to rapid growth may be beneficial to other Perth businesses experiencing the same thing. We would also like to hear how other businesses respond to rapid growth, feel free to comment below or contact us.
